Board of Directors
The Board of Directors of the University Children’s Centre Society may carry up to eleven (11), yet not less than five (5) members, including the Executive Director who holds full voting rights. Meetings are usually held monthly (except in July and August). The Board of Directors is responsible for monitoring all operations of the organization via the Executive Director, negotiating the staff Collective Agreement (with the Canadian Union of Public Employees - CUPE), establishing policy, and hiring and evaluating the Executive Director. The Chair of the Board of Directors shall also preside as Chair of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society, which is usually held in March of each year. Parents, as full voting members of the Society, are encouraged to attend the AGM and encouraged to become involved in Board initiatives. Parent representatives to the Board are elected each year at the AGM. If you are interested in becoming a Board member or sitting on a committee of the Board, please do not hesitate to speak to the Executive Director or any member of our Board.
